What Am I Going to Feed My Kid?!?!
July 29, 2017

When people transition from one dietary lifestyle to another, the biggest concern is often 1. If their kids are going to eat any of the new foods and 2. If their kids are going to eat any of the new foods.

Going from a Standard American Diet (SAD) to Gluten Free/Casein Free can be as challenging as going from Gluten Free/Casein Free to a grain free diet such as Paleo, GAPS or Specific Carbohydrate diet. It seems that no matter how “experienced” you are at avoiding certain foods or ingredients, there’s always a learning curve when it comes to the next layer of healing.

My good friend Mallory has recently changed her children’s diet to Paleo and was looking for some suggestions on what to feed them. As I was collecting a variety of “kid-friendly” recipes for her, it occurred to me I should also share them with you!

You must take into consideration your child’s texture preferences so most of these recipes fall into the “crunchy” or “dry” category because my son doesn’t eat mushy or wet foods.

I’m also not a glutton for punishment so these recipes are simple and doable from a busy mom’s perspective. Also, most of the sites I’ve collected these from have several other recipes that you can explore.

HAZELNUT PIZZA CRUST from Grain Free Foodies
*If allergic to hazel nuts, almond flour works great.  Use a pizza stone for best results.

*If these are too moist, you can store in the freezer or put them in a dehydrator to make them more crunchy.

COCONUT FLOUR SNICKERDOODLES From Well Fed Homestead

CHEWY PUMPKIN SPICE CANDY from Delicious Obsessions
